This was a spontaneous dinner that we had before I left for home (mumbai), A treat i will remember. Living in Bombay, I knew about Peshawri at ITC Grand Maratha, Andheri and always wanted to try dal bukhara. The restaurant is on the 1st floor but for some reason, the floor is marked ‘10’ on the elevator. Even the staff will address it as on 10th floor. The hotel was full of people waiting to meet and greet the Lucknow team that was in house for the next days match at NaMo stadium. The restaurant ambiance is dhaba style and has a very limited menu options. All worth trying. Especially dal bukhara. It is to die for and worth every penny. We ordered one malai chicken tikka, dal bukhara, indian breads and butter chicken. They recommend having started with dal and roti. Dhaba style. Cutlery is provided upon request only, so dont be surprised if it never arrives at your table. Lick your fingers and keep digging, it will not last long on the table. Also, wear provided apron to keep yourself clean as you get engrossed in your meal. Order could have been taken sooner. I had to get up to find the server and to ask to take order. The butter chicken was a tiny bit sweet as informed by our server. We had to ask them to make it a bit spicy and tangy, still it will remain a bit sweet. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it as well. Dal Bukhara and tikka had that distinct charcoal taste which made it very unique and unlike anything i have tried elsewhere. Its a must try. The order will take a good 20-30 mins to arrive. It should not be considered as a delay. Its worth the wait. Try kulchas and lacchha parathas. Roasted papads are on the house. At the end, finger bowls are given. I found that it wasn’t sufficient enough to get my hands completely oil and odour free. Some other ‘Peshawri’ alternative should be offered. Bill is presented digitally and a copy is sent on registered mobile number. I have not received a copy at the time of writing this review. Luckily i took a photo. Service charge is not levied so tip appropriately. This is the cheapest Peshawri you’ll find at any ITC hotels. I will go home and take my parents to ITC maratha, Mumbai to dine at Peshawri and try dal bukhara. Its just worth it.
