I recently visited this Periyar restaurant and had a truly satisfying dining experience. The freshness of the fish was good and the fish curry was rich and aromatic, pairing wonderfully with the soft rice and traditional side dishes. Overall, this is a wonderful spot for anyone who loves fresh, flavorful seafood served in a homely style. I would definitely recommend it to fish lovers and look forward to visiting again. I visited Periyar Restaurant this afternoon. I have been a regular customer earlier, but unfortunately, this visit was a disappointing experience. Despite there being no heavy crowd (unlike earlier days), the customer service was extremely poor. There was no one properly attending to the tables. Instead of explaining the menu or available items, the staff initially pushed only the high-priced fish items, which were clearly priced much higher than normal. They repeatedly said that only those items were available. After repeatedly requesting, a lady staff member finally mentioned that smaller fish items could be arranged. Even then, there was a long delay. When we later asked a male staff member—who appeared to be a supervisor running around the restaurant—whether any small fish items were available, his response was, “നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്താ വേണ്ടേ?”, said in a very rough and dismissive tone. As a customer, I expected the staff to politely explain what dishes were available, not to respond rudely. The food quality was also far below the standard Periyar Restaurant was once known for. The overall experience were significantly worse compared to earlier visits. For comparison, I had food from Meenchatti Restaurant, Aluva, a few days ago, and it was far better in terms of both service and food quality. Overall, this visit to Periyar Restaurant was disappointing. I hope the management takes serious steps to improve customer service, staff behavior, and food quality to match the reputation they once had. The food & service was awesome. Only the grilled fish is costly. Otherwise the meals, special dishes are very affordable and authentic taste. The service was excellent the serving people was very friendly, welcoming. Would definitely recommend this place and visit again Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹2,000+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
