Cherava, Our personal favorite food spot. The food served here is absolutely delicious, with a homely taste that we always crave. It's also budget-friendly, offering great quality at a decent price—something that's hard to find in Kochi. Visited this restaurant today for lunch after reading all the good reviews. But it was a disappointing experience. We had ordered fish curry meals with beef kanthari and some varieties of fish fry. Fish fry was a disaster as all the varieties, Chala, Kalanji, Squid etc. tasted as if they had sprayed some perfume in the marinating masala or they had used discarded fried oil from some star hotels. Actually we went in search of Vellakanthari the most preferred restaurant next door, but it was closed due to Christmas. Even now in the night, the taste of that fish is creating nausea. My son vomitted twice. Don't know if it's food poisoning. Will update tomorrow. Never will again go here. PS: Service was good but due to the heavy rush as nearby restaurants were all closed, the available 6 to 7 people were finding it difficult to serve all customers. Had complained to the lady sitting in the cash counter about the stale taste of all fish fries. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2
