SCAM ALERT SCAM ALERT SCAM ALERT. We visited Pergola De Pines yesterday and it was honestly one of the most suspicious café experiences we’ve had. We ordered only three dishes: • Butter garlic mushrooms • Veg basil Thai noodles • Half & half pizza. Along with two Heineken Silver beers. We booked the table through Swiggy, where it clearly showed 40% off on the total bill. When we reached the café, the place was almost completely empty, which already made the vibe feel a little strange. When the bill arrived, it was around ₹4,525, which was shocking considering we ordered just three dishes and two beers. Even worse, they charged us for two water bottles when we had only taken one. When we mentioned that we had booked through Swiggy with 40% discount, the staff told us beer is excluded. Then he insisted that we should not pay through Swiggy and instead said he would give 40% “in-house discount.” This already felt very suspicious. Also, the bill took almost 15 minutes to arrive, which is very unusual when the café had barely any customers. Another major issue they added a very high service charge to the bill. In India, service charge is voluntary and not mandatory, and customers have the right to ask for it to be removed. I have never seen anyone sign directly on the bill where the service charge is written, but the staff had signed right there, making it look very questionable. Later, when my uncle (who is a GST officer) started asking questions about the billing and discount system, the staff became uncomfortable and the conversation turned awkward. In the end they made us: • Pay the food bill with 40% discount • Pay the beer bill separately at ₹600 per bottle. The whole experience felt like a scam. When we later checked reviews on Google and Zomato, we realized that many people have had similar complaints. After coming home, we checked the reviews on Google and Zomato and realized the reviews are extremely poor and many people have complained about similar experiences. Guys, please check the reviews before visiting. If we had checked them earlier, we would have saved ourselves from this experience. We have dined at many fine dining restaurants like Hyatt, Lemon Tree Hotels, and JW Marriott, and we have never experienced such behavior or billing issues anywhere. Trying to trick customers who are literally your bread and butter is not how a business grows. When you try to scam your customers, how will abundance ever come to your café? Do not visit. Do not visit. Take this as a warning. SCAM ALERT. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Dinner

This place feels like a complete scam. The prices are extremely high, and the food quality is below average. They inflate the bill with charges that don’t match what’s listed on the menu, which is very misleading. On top of that, the mandatory service charge is unreasonably high. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place if you don’t want to waste your money. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Dinner

I would strongly advise staying away from this place if you don’t want to waste your money. The mandatory service fee alone is unreasonably high, which already feels excessive. To make matters worse, the bill often includes charges that don’t match what’s listed on the menu, which is quite misleading. Considering the food quality is below average, the extremely high prices make the whole experience feel like a complete rip-off.
