I usually order occasionally from PANDAN because their food is genuinely good. But a few days back I had a really bad incident with this restaurant. I placed an order through Zomato for a family non veg set for both Dimsums and Sushi. I had guests over for the Diwali season.
So I placed an order at around 8.30PM and it showed 52 minutes to delivery. That’s fine. I knew it’s the standard time. So I went ahead with it. At around 9.32PM I gave a call to the restaurant enquiring about my order status. The restaurant doesn’t have Zomato Delivery Associates so hence live tracking was not possible. The manager picks up the call and HAS THE AUDACITY TO LIE to me on my face and tell me that the delivery boy is only 5-7 minutes away from my place. I ask again at 9.43 and at 9.52PM when my patience has clearly gone through the roof. The manager (now changed) again tells me the delivery boy is near my place and would be arriving soon.
At around 10.05PM, the delivery boy comes to my house and after enquiring from him I get to know the order only was given at 9.40PM and he has come hastily to my place.
I want to ask the restaurant: It’s fine if the order is getting delayed. I understand. But that doesn’t mean you shall lie to the customer through your teeth. I had guests over who were clearly not impressed.
Add to that, the food was cold and the rice was not smelling all that good on the sushi.
Deplorable services by Pandan Asian Eats who lie to their customers instead of simply telling them that the order is delayed etc. ??
I would like to thank Zomato and Zomato Customer service esp Mohammed for their quick redressal of my problems. They have ensured me that on their part they shall take note of this incident and bring it up with the restaurant. ??
