We had a pleasant dining experience at Palmshore in Egmore. The waiting time was minimal despite it being prime time on a Sunday night, and the food was served swiftly. Every dish we ordered was delicious with mild spices, which the kids especially enjoyed. A few items were out of stock, but that’s understandable considering the crowd. The only downside was that the manager asked us to leave right after payment, as other guests were waiting—while we understand the rush, it would’ve been nice to wait a few minutes inside since we had booked a cab and were just waiting for it to arrive. That part could have been handled more thoughtfully. Overall, a great place for family dining with good food and efficient service. Price per person: ₹200–400 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labelled vegetarian dishes

Visited Palmshore Restaurant in Egmore recently. The ambience is good, but there's definitely room for improvement to elevate the overall dining experience. One thing that bothered me was the attendant’s persistent push to get us to order platters, particularly the seafood platter, which was priced around ₹2500–₹3000. It felt like a deliberate upselling attempt, and frankly, it came across as a bit fishy. When I declined and said I preferred to order individual dishes, he warned that it would take longer. I assured him I was okay to wait. Eventually, we ordered around 8 to 10 individual dishes and 4 biryanis, and the total bill came to approximately ₹4800 – which I found very reasonable for the quality and quantity we received. If we had gone with the platters, it would’ve been a complete loss in terms of value – the portion sizes just don’t justify the price in my opinion. Food-wise, I would easily give 5 stars – everything was fresh, tasty, and well-prepared. But the aggressive upselling approach deserves just 1 star. It creates an uncomfortable experience and can mislead customers, especially those unfamiliar with the menu. My advice: Don’t fall for the platter suggestion. Order what you actually want – it’s better in both value and variety. Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
