Cream Centre Cream Centre turned out to be a surprise. I walked in expecting ice creams and sundaes but found instead a full-fledged vegetarian restaurant. It sits right by a busy arterial road yet manages to offer decent parking, with valet service adding to the ease. Inside, the ambience was clean and minimalist. Chairs, booths, and lighting all carried a simple elegance. The lights were a little sharp but not unpleasant, giving the space a bright, uncluttered look. Even the bill counter, placed far at the back instead of the usual spot near the entrance, added to the neat first impression. On a holiday evening there was no wait and we could choose our table freely. The staff were warm and helpful in guiding us through the menu. For a vegetarian restaurant, the variety was impressive. We ordered their signature nachos with cheese sauce. The price was high, especially for a single starter, but the taste softened that sting. The dish arrived quickly, perhaps because of the smaller crowd or its simplicity. The plating, however, was not flattering. What arrived was a jumble of broken tortilla chips with a yellow-tinged sauce poured over, finished with a few pieces of green capsicum scattered on top. It looked more hasty than artful. Yet taste has a way of forgiving appearances. The chips were warm and fresh, far removed from the packaged ones many cafés use. The cheese sauce was thick, mild, and beautifully balanced, coating the chips without overwhelming them. When the sauce softened the crisp edges, the combination of crunch and melt was near perfect. The capsicum added little and was mostly discarded, yet the chips with sauce alone carried the dish. The highlight was the salsa served alongside. Tangy with a hint of sweetness, it paired flawlessly with the nachos and cheese. Alternating between bites of creamy cheese and bright salsa made the dish playful and exciting. We loved it so much that we asked for another bowl of salsa, which we happily finished. Of course, time caught up with the dish. By the end the nachos became fully soggy, as is inevitable when cheese sauce rests too long. This is not a plate meant for takeaway or delivery but one to be shared quickly at the table, enjoyed before the texture fades. Cream Centre left an impression of understated elegance. The ambience was simple yet graceful, the food satisfying, and the service attentive. The price did feel heavy for what was offered, but the overall experience carried charm enough to justify a visit. 8/10. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
