During my visit to Apollo Chennai, I discovered this Afghani restaurant nearby — and let me tell you, I’ve never had better Afghani food, not even in Kolkata where it’s much more expensive! Here’s what I tried: Falooda – ₹195 (5/5) Afghani Chicken – ₹280 (5/5) Pineapple Juice – ₹95 (5/5) Pomegranate Juice – ₹145 (5/5) ------------------------------------ The way they serve the Falooda — in a tall glass, filled with fruits and topped with crispy wafers — looks so pleasing and tastes even better. The Afghani Chicken kebab was truly one of its kind — juicy, smoky, and perfectly spiced. Both juices were fresh and absolutely refreshing. Laham Mandi – ₹420 (4/5) -------------------------------- This mandi tasted far better than any I’ve had in Kolkata, even those priced much higher. The rice was flavourful, and the big mutton piece — with a generous bit of fat — was well-cooked and satisfying. Kashmiri Pulao – ₹230 (4/5) Chicken Nawabi – ₹330 (5/5) --------------------------------- This combination was a match made in heaven. The pulao had plenty of fruits, while the Nawabi was loaded with tender chicken chunks. Mild yet full of flavour — a must-try combo! Water bottle was charged only ₹20. Staff are friendly and the service is fast. Portions are generous and prices are very reasonable for the quality. You don’t need to already love Afghani food — one visit here and you’ll become a fan of the cuisine for sure.
