What was supposed to be a special Valentine’s celebration turned into an absolutely disgusting and unforgettable experience!!! We chose Nandana’s Palace, Bengaluru to celebrate Valentine’s Day with friends, expecting good food and a nice evening. Instead, we found a DEAD COCKROACH inside our Bamboo Chicken dish. Yes. A cockroach. In the food!!! On Valentine’s Day!!! The moment my friend noticed it, he instantly felt like puking. The entire table was in shock. It was revolting, embarrassing, and completely ruined the evening. How does something like this even make it out of a kitchen?! We immediately informed the staff and management. They apologized and called it a “mistake.” A mistake?! This is not getting an order wrong — this is basic hygiene failure! And the worst part? The same dish was being served to multiple tables at that time. That’s extremely concerning. Then came the handling of the situation — which was just as frustrating. They waived our bill even though we repeatedly insisted that we were fine paying. Waiving the bill doesn’t undo what happened. It doesn’t fix the hygiene issue. It doesn’t make the experience okay! We also requested multiple times — including to the GM — to let us see the kitchen conditions. If this happened, at least show some transparency and reassure your customers! But no. They refused to show us the kitchen at any cost. That refusal only made the whole situation feel worse. The attitude from management did not reflect the seriousness of what had just happened. This was Valentine’s Day — a day meant to be special — and it ended in disgust and frustration instead. Food safety is NOT optional. Extremely disappointed. Extremely disturbed.
