On August 23rd, 2023, my family and I had an unfortunate experience at NH 8 Restaurant in Indira Nagar, which I feel compelled to share. We chose this restaurant to celebrate my daughter's birthday with a dinner, a decision I now deeply regret.
At the age of 56 and having traveled extensively, I was taken aback by the distressing encounter I faced. It was the first time I experienced such harassment and insistence. Before serving our meal, the restaurant staff demanded to know our names. Despite a heated argument, they cited this intrusive practice as a "management rule." I find myself utterly dismayed by the audacity of such a rule, wondering how they could compel patrons to disclose their names for a meal they are willingly paying for.
The disappointment continued as we were served welcome drinks - butter milk and Jaljira - in quantities barely exceeding 50ML. The size of the chapatis was no more than a mere 2 or 2.5 inches in diameter. The chutney servings resembled miniature portions, almost comical in size.
Having been born and brought up in Bikaner, Rajasthan, I couldn't help but feel that the quality of food offered was far from justifying its price tag of 499Rs. for a Thali. In my estimation, the experience did not align with even a 100Rs. meal. When compared to Rajdhani Thali, which not only offers a greater variety but also superior serving sizes at a more reasonable cost, the discrepancy becomes even more evident.
This incident stands out as one of the worst and most disappointing experiences of my life. The utter lack of quality, coupled with an intrusive and unreasonable policy, left a lasting impression of a third-rate establishment.
