An iconic restaurant that has served so many Indian and International celebrities across the since several decades. One of the most delicious and oh-so-different Butter Chicken I have ever had in Delhi, unlike the sweet tangy tastes served by other restaurants. Paired with Butter Naan and Garlic Naan, just fell in love with the taste of their legendary Butter Chicken. The Chicken Burra as axstarted was wonderful with spices well marinated in the pieces. Prices are on the higher side (Starters around 700-800, Main course dishes around 700-800 for half/1100-1200 for full) but then understandable considering the iconic status. Today after I visited Moti Mahal Daryaganj with 4 members as the youngsters wanted to eat at a new place. I agreed as I had a very good years old reputation of this joint. Surprisingly the place was empty because of Dusshera and damp with old cieling and outdated furniture. The items were highly priced (more than double for every item), still we went ahead, looking forward to a good taste. The chicken tikka portions were shockingly small. Butter chicken was below average in taste, mutton roghan josh was horrible and soya chap gravy was the worst I had eaten in last 15 years. Cold drinks, kulfi, naan, laccha paratha were exorbitantly priced. I could make out, this place is going down like the Titanic and it just doesn't care anymore. What a waste of Rs 4680 for 5 people. We could have eaten at Karims or any other good restaurant for half the amount. One thing is for sure, I will never visit this place ever and will not allow any of my knowns to visit either. It was my first visit to Moti Mahal restaurant. It is an iconic place in Delhi and once upon a time landmark which was visited by many high profile people from across the world. In the afternoon today it seemed quite laid back with very few people in it. I believe that it is very crowded in the evenings. The food was okay. The egg curry had just two boiled eggs but the gravy was a bit spicy. The naans were good. The salad was okay. Service alright since there were few customers. I think one day I will go in the evening and see what it feels like. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹400–600
