After falling in love with Barahsinghe during my Nepal trip, I was genuinely excited when I heard that Momo I Am had brought Barahsinghe Craft Beer to Kolkata. So, during the Pujas, my friend and I made sure to drop by to try it out along with some of their signature bites. We ordered: 1. Barahsinghe Hazy IPA 2. Barahsinghe Hefeweizen 3. Lhasa Pork 4. Salt & Pepper Fish The Hazy IPA was an absolute standout – chilled, refreshing, with strong fruity notes and a softer bitterness that made it incredibly satisfying. The Hefeweizen was good too, but the Hazy IPA was undoubtedly the star of the evening. As for the food, the Lhasa Pork was a pleasant surprise– tender slices of pork cooked with Himalayan spices, rich in umami, and pairing beautifully with the beer. The Salt & Pepper Fish was equally impressive, with large, crisp pieces that were spot on in texture and flavour. Overall, it was a fantastic experience – great beer, delicious food, and a perfect festive outing. I’ll definitely be returning to explore more from their menu.
