Mira is a very highly rated restaurant, which is exactly why our experience on 1st January came as a complete shock. My wife and I visited for a quick lunch, already running late. We ordered a seafood platter, chicken roulade, and iced teas. The waiter did inform us that the platter might take 15–20 minutes, which was fair. However, what followed was unacceptable. For 30 minutes, nothing arrived — not even the iced tea. No updates, no partial service. Even the items that required minimal preparation were not served. After 45 minutes, when we were almost ready to leave, the food finally arrived. The chicken roulade was extremely poor. I had to call the chef and physically tear the chicken in front of him to show how dry, tough, and inedible it was, and asked if he himself would eat it. He replaced the dish, but the second version showed no meaningful improvement. Based on both taste and texture, it was evident that the food — including the chicken and fish — was frozen and far from fresh. The chicken genuinely felt days old, not something prepared or even thawed properly that day. None of the dishes tasted fresh. I usually avoid commenting on pricing, but it’s hard to ignore when you’re paying ₹350 for an iced tea that is essentially cold water with a tea bag. If food is being reheated from frozen stock, pricing should reflect that reality. The staff mentioned they were very short-staffed. That may be true, but staffing issues are not the customer’s responsibility. If you can only operate at 50% service capacity, then either: • Limit the number of customers you serve, or • Price your offerings accordingly High ratings create high expectations. Unfortunately, this visit was a disaster from start to finish — slow service, poor food quality, and pricing that didn’t match the experience at all.
