This was a lonely planet recommendation. The restaurant is overpriced and very mediocre. Naan was not fresh, probably pulled out of the freezer. The food arrived without the rice that we had ordered. The rice eventually arrived after we were halfway through our food food. Very easy in Pondicherry to do much better than this for much less money. Meal type: Lunch Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

A Charming Escape to Old-World France at Chez Francis. A Hidden Gem with Stunning Decor and Standout Seafood! I had a wonderful experience at Chez Francis. The "old French" decor creates a beautiful, nostalgic ambiance that makes it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal. The food was exceptional; we particularly enjoyed the roasted Pumpkin soup, Tempura Prawns, Squid Calamari, and Fish Fingers. If you’re looking for a refreshing starter, the Caprese Salad is a great choice. For the mains, the Mango based Fish Curry is a must try (incredible flavour’s!), and the Poulet Chasseur (Chicken Champion) was a classic, hearty delight. What made the visit truly special was the hospitality. A big thank you to Balram and Sharan for their attentive and warm service. They really went above and beyond! Recommended dishes: Mango Fish Curry, Tempura Prawns, Poulet Chasseur.
