I celebrated my wedding anniversary at Maxicana. We had soup, Tortila wraps and Qasadilas. Trust me it was to die for. Nice ambeince. Excellent serivice from Joseph. We had cake from Ramada Kochi as well.

I grown up a love with Mexican tex mex food while I'm abroad with the work. Coming back to Kerala i was virtually looking the same and tried many restaurants which saying they serve the cuisine which was totally disappointing with just nachos,tacos and burritos.but one of my friend suggested The Mexicana at RAMADA KOCHI.it was just a right suggestion and realised once i visited there. As they say the only Mexican tex mex specialty restaurant in kerala ,they offer a wide selection of dishes from the region .Truly it was one of my best Mexican tex mex cuisine i have tasted .And am not wondered when i saw awards and accolades in their wall as they truly deserve it. The T bone steak ,enchilada and pollo jalisco was delicious n filling .And i recently seen a newspaper review about the Ramada manu am eagerly waiting for a next visit. Only con was this restaurant is not a busy eatery as it is located in the outskirts of city and people may not aware about the real cuisine which they serve. Surely it will be favorite for those who loves the Tex Mex and Mexican food.

I am a hard core fan of Mexican food and knowing to cook a few dishes myself, I was super excited to try some good authentic Mexican food in Kochi but to both my husband's and my disappointment, the food was 1000 miles away from Mexican. It was unnecessarily spicy, greasy and not at all Mexican. We just wanted to go for the Main course since we were not that hugely hungry. My husband ordered an Empanada and it was unnecessarily stuffed with chunky green peppers. Remember how the Shawarma around Kerala is full of Cabbage.. Likewise! I had ordered Pollo Mazatlan. I was so disappointed seeing the plate with a small size breast piece and a whole lot of greasy so-called Mexican rice. Literally there were 2 small button mushrooms cut into half making it 4 pieces arranged on the side of the plate!! The Refried beans was absolutely tasteless and lacked the subtle hint of spices and it was COLD like it was literally like an ice lolly! After all that, we wanted to taste Churros which I thought would make up for the disappointing meal. Instead of Churros what we received was Doughy fried round buns which was surrounded with honey... I had to educate the team there about authentic Mexican food and asked them to at least Google what is Churros!!! It was so disappointing and I will never return and would not recommend the restaurant to anyone.
