We had dinner at Menani Restaurant with a group of 15 people, and the experience was outright frustrating. If you're planning to visit with a big group — beware. We ordered chapati, butter naan, porotta, karimeen, neimeen, quarter alfam, and chicken curry. But what we received was a completely disordered and poorly managed mess. No gravy items were provided with the breads, leaving most of it wasted and dry. Multiple butter naans were untouched — because there was simply nothing to eat them with. The staff clearly had no clue how to guide a large group on what or how much to order. There was zero planning or suggestion, and as a result, we ended up wasting food and money. The communication gap between order-takers and kitchen is shockingly bad. On top of that, the fish is charged based on weight, not quantity, and there’s no transparency or upfront clarification. If you don’t ask every little detail, you’ll be overcharged and under-served. In short: If you’re coming in a group, avoid this place unless you want to walk out annoyed, confused, and disappointed. Very poor service, terrible order handling, and a complete lack of accountability. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹2,000+ Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We are so sorry about the inconvenience caused. I have investigated about the complete incident about your order at Menani Restaurant. Your order was: Karimeen fry 3, Neymeen fry 3, Neymeen curry 1, chicken curry fry 1, 10 butter Nan, 10 chapati, 10 porata, 1qtr peri peri grill, 1 qtr Bbq, beef fry 1, prawns fry 1. The person who had taken your order was the Captain and a very experienced staff. He has very well communicated with the person who was telling the order and has very well made sure that extra gravy was given to the table whenever requested even though your order was mostly all dry items that you may very well know yourself. We can't help but give you dry items as per your own order except for 1 or 2 curries. But made sure you still got extra gravy for your breads. As per my humble knowledge, to be as transparent as could be, fish is always weighed and charged accordingly. Here at MENANI restaurant we have a very reasonable rate to charge for fish: Karimeen For 100 gms Rs.150 Neymeen For 100 gms Rs.200 This is the usual/general rate at which fish is charged @ Kumarakom, if not, lesser than the usual rate. These normal rates are acceptable by the general public and we have served millions of customers over these years of service. Moreover these rates are much much cheaper than what you get in the toddy shops of kumarakom. We try our best to serve all our customers with the best ethics and principals. Our other services include Pearlspot Hotel with state of the art rooms located at the same premises. Also we have multiple room houseboats called St.Mary Houseboat.
