One of the worst experiences of my life happened today at Hotel Maharani!! We were hosting dinner for 30 guests, called ahead and arranged a hall at Maharani restaurant. Even after pre-planning and communicating with them multiple times that we need a single dish (Chicken biriyani) for almost 25 of them, and chappathi-veg curry for the remaining, it took them almost 30 minutes after all our guests were seated to start bringing the food! Not even a waiter or employee present, only someone occasionally coming to say they are working on the order. And the food was just bad. Biriyani rice, vegetables in the curry were undercooked. The flavour of biriyani is not anything remotely close to what we expect in Calicut. Idk what i expect from them after we had to sit in shame in front of our guests for inviting them to this "famous" food spot but the only response the management had for the complains were sorry and we can't do anything about it!!
