Visited M M Masoora, Kolhapur – A Culinary Safari That Went Sideways I walked into M M Masoora in Shahupuri, E Ward, near KDC Bank, with dreams of aromatic ghee, spicy masoor, and soul-satisfying food. After all, the brand is popular, the reviews looked promising, and I was hungry – what could possibly go wrong? Well, let’s just say everything. Let me break down the experience, bullet-style, just like the flavor in some of their dishes – missing. --- साजूक तुपातली लसूनी मसूर – 2/5 Where was the साजूक तूप? Where was the लसूण? Heck, where was the मसूर’s soul? I had to double-check the name of the dish – tasted like boiled lentils with stage fright. Vanga Bharit – 2/5 Honestly, my home-cooked version laughs in 10x power at this. If bland had a mascot, this was it. Butter Roti – 4/5 Massive in size. Like really jumbo. If I was there for a roti eating competition, I’d have won. But sadly, I was there for taste. भाकरी - 4/5 Only item that felt like homey Dal Tadka – 0/5 (Yes, Zero. Nada. Shunya.) The moment it arrived, I had an inner voice whisper, “Mistake big mistake.” Then I tasted it. The voice was right. This was not tadka – this was trauma. Khushka Rice – 4/5 Rice tried its best to be the hero. But the supporting cast failed miserably. Result? A confused dish with an identity crisis. Solkadhi – 5/5 The only shining star of the evening. Smooth, tasty, and probably the only reason I didn’t leave in total despair. --- Chef Saab, I don’t know what mood you were in – Monday blues, bad breakup, or just a “let’s troll the customer” day – but man, you nuked the menu. As for me, I walked in with expectations and walked out with disappointment and a burp of regret. Note to the owner: Please taste your own food once. Or twice. Or maybe just outsource the kitchen to someone’s grandma. Next time, I’m going to that rising brand I reviewed earlier – they’re running circles around this place. Blindfolded.
