Here are a few observations from the few times I've visited Kynjai: 1. The quality of foods and beverages served here is terrific and one can only deduce that the cook(s) who prepare(s) them and the ingredients being used to prepare them must be top-tier as well, 2. The quantities of food served in a plate/bowl while optimal, the beverages (specially the varieties of hot and cold coffees) strictly with respect to the prices charged, is less than optimal. For reference, their hot mocha with cream is charged at ₹180 that comes in a frustrum-shaped glass cup that holds maybe 100-120 mL of coffee, 3. While all the tables are equipped with a horde of additional cutlery and paper tissues but are devoid of the heart & soul of any japanese or south korean dish: condiments, 4. While I appreciate the practicalility with which Kynjai has only kept steel spoons and forks at their tables, for an all-in korean/japanese dining experience, the availability of chopsticks (disposable or otherwise) could be considered, 5. Appetizers in general are shared amongst people. At Kynjai, they are served on a single tray with tiny singular bowls of condiments (2 at max) with even lesser portions, that come with the dish itself. This tends to dampen the spirit of sharing the appetizers amongst a group of > 2 people due to 6. Lastly, majority of Kynjai has indoor seats with one section that even has a fireplace, which for winters in Shillong, is amazing but seeing how summers here are getting warmer with every passing year, a few outdoor seating options could also be explored especially since the restaurant has a nice little garden-esque space within its property. Had a great experience at Kynjai Cloud Kitchen! The food was delicious, well-prepared, and full of flavor. The place had a cozy vibe, and to top it off, there was a super cute cat that made the visit even better. Definitely worth a visit!
