By far the worst café I’ve ever visited. I don’t know about its past reputation, but the current experience was terrible—especially the food. Honestly, even a roadside stall offers better quality. We ordered Irani chai (0/5)—and believe me, I’ve had Irani tea in Hyderabad countless times. This one was nowhere close. The chocolate shake (0/5) was equally disappointing. The chicken puff was served cold and soggy, and the cream roll wasn’t any better—just soggy and bland. To make matters worse, the staff were incredibly rude. Every time we raised a concern, the response was, “This is how we make and serve it.” Well, good luck with that attitude. At this rate, you won’t have customers coming back anytime soon.

Not so sure why this legendary place is down to the dumps. I had so much expectations , but was totally disappointed. Watery keema, too sweet sali boti with dry chicken pieces, dry paav , not so hospitable staff and top it all only cash payment. All the ingredients for a disastrous lunch for us. I will not recommend the same to anybody , for sure. I have been to a lot better Parsi joints.

I visited Kyani & Co back when I wasn’t even a fan of Irani cafés. The first time I came here, it felt like a one-time visit. But now, after coming again, I actually felt very homely with the kind of service they provide.Kyani & Co. is located at Marine Lines East. It’s just 10 minutes walking distance from Marine Lines station. This place has been around since 1904 and was started by a gentleman named Khodram Marezban. People lovingly call it Kyani’s.My favourite dishes to have here are the mutton kheema pav, masala omelette, and bun maska. The service is pretty fast and they are always polite, which I really appreciate. I am not a fan of Irani chai, but my friends have tried it and they found it good. I usually grab their bakery items like wine biscuits and they are absolutely lovely. The place still has that old charm. You will find wooden tables and that vintage Irani café feel that truly makes you feel like you’re in Mumbai. It’s usually crowded during breakfast, not just on weekends. Reaching early is always a good idea. This is the kind of place where you come for breakfast and end up spending time with your family, friends, or even acquaintances. The vibe just makes you sit, talk, and enjoy the moment. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. They don’t have a washroom, which can be inconvenient especially if you are planning to spend some time here. Also, they don’t offer regular water and you will only be served bottled water, which feels a bit off for such an old-school café. I really hope they consider changing that. The other thing is, they don’t accept digital payments. It’s strictly cash, which again, is quite quite inconvenient at times, especially in today’s time when everything is digital. I feel they should really allow people to pay online too.
