Kamdhenu's, a quaint sweet shop located on Central Road in Kolkata, is a hidden gem for anyone seeking delectable dessert options. While it lacks widespread awareness across major restaurant directories, it does have a minimal presence on Zomato. The establishment welcomes visitors every day, operating from 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM, ensuring enough time to indulge in their offerings.
Known primarily for its wide range of sweets, Kamdhenu's is particularly celebrated by its patrons for items like Malai Chop and Gulab Jamun, alongside other favorite picks like Roshogolla and its exciting variant, Baked Roshogolla. Reviews suggest that this small establishment maintains good standards despite its modest setting, especially noted when compared to its larger outlet at Baghajatin.
Besides sweets, Kamdhenu's also provides a selection of snacks such as Radhaballavi with alur torkari and Khasta kachori, though opinions on these vary. Despite its appeal, potential visitors should be aware that the most recent review dates back four years, raising questions about any possible changes that may have occurred since. With a budget-friendly price point, Kamdhenu's offers an approachable option for exploring traditional Indian desserts and snacks amidst the vibrant landscape of Kolkata's culinary scene.
This outlet is pretty small compared to the Baghajatin outlet. But the Sweets are of good standards.
I tried -
1) Roshogolla - decent in size and quite soft.
2) Baked roshogolla - a must try from this joint
3) Baked mihidana - must try.
4) Ghee laddu- this is one of their best item according to me. Make sure to grab it fresh and warm.
5) Rashmalai.
Other snacks to try -
1) Radhaballavi and alur torkari(10 Rupees per piece) -brought home this snack from this particular joint recently. They were pretty good in taste, decent in size. But the radhaballavi was a bit more oily and the sabji needed a little more more salt.
2) Dhokla - quite good
3) Khasta kachori- quite average.
This year also went to buy sweets for the Rakhi. They have a wide range of assorted options and also very budget friendly.
