On a crowded Christmas evening in New Market, we found a completely empty restaurant—Jimmie's Kitchen. This small, simple, yet elegant restaurant and bar is tucked away in the area.Spring Chicken @ Rs.360 (3/5)Sweet Corn Soup @ Rs.240 (3/5)-----------------------------------------------The Spring Chicken turned out to be nothing more than boneless chicken pakora. While it lacked originality, it was fresh, juicy, and flavorful. The soup was average, with a few kernels that were a bit tough and hard to chew.Garlic Chicken @ Rs.350 (2/5)Chicken Fried Rice @ Rs.310 (4/5)Singaporean Rice Noodles @ Rs.390 (1/5)---------------------------------------------------------The Garlic Chicken was disappointing. It was made with sliced pieces of chicken and lacked flavor, tasting rather ordinary. The Fried Rice, however, was a pleasant surprise—mild, flavorful, and quite tasty.The Singaporean Rice Noodles were a complete letdown. After Mainland China, this was the second worst version of rice noodles I’ve had at any Chinese restaurant. They seemed to have used Maggie masala to season them, which made the dish a disaster. Properly made Mei Foon would have been far better.The portion sizes are quite small for the prices, and these five dishes weren't enough to satisfy four people. The total cost, without alcohol, came to around Rs. 2000. Given the high prices, it's not hard to see why the restaurant was empty, even on such a busy evening.
