The one star is not for the food but the experience. I made a reservation for a table at Jamavar, only to go there to be told that the restaurant was ‘closed’ for a wedding. Also- google says that the restaurant is open for service today (clearly not). So anyone going- please triple check your reservations, or you May be told that you have to walk away!!. After a complaint, we were offered to be accommodated at their all day dining restaurant - but we did not go to Leela Palace to eat at Spectre as that doesn’t compare to a fine dining meal at Jamavar. Utterly disappointing experience. Service: 1

Jamavar Dal is really good ! Dal with rice was very refreshing. I also tried paratha with chettinad chicken but I have had better ones but still good quality . Price per person: ₹2,000+ Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Jamawar restaurant in Leela is one place which fully checked all my boxes. Yes, the place is expensive because it is exclusive, extravagant, extraordinary and exquisite. Truly the star of North Indian cuisine in Chennai. The perfect setting for my mother's 80th Birthday with family and a few friends. The restaurant is large and spacious. The interior and ambience reminded my of the byegone eras of luxury and excess. The moment hour enter one is transported into the kitchen of the Mughals. The sweeping sound of Sitar does set in the mood. The floors, the curtains, the lights and the furniture truly reflect royalty. The only thing that reminds you of modernity is the porcelain and the cutlery. The first dish on the table was the the Galouty Kebab which was out standing in taste and flavour, the paneer which came in neat nearly took the spot light from the Galouti Kebab. The Tandoori Chicken was perfect and the Lamb dish was beautifully cooked that the meat was softer than the Paneer. The flavour of Mughal Biriyani was excellent. We then finished of with the dessert which included Halwa, a special raspallat and a sweet kheer truly filled our stomach to the brim. Every staff must be appreciated for their patience, their speed of service and ever smiling face. Their professionalism must be appreciated and hatsoff to the management for training the staffs. If one wants to spurlge on their loved ones then Jamawar is the place to do it. Would surely recommend this place to everyone. Price per person: ₹2,000+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
