The Mughlai cuisine is on the menu at this restaurant. Perfectly cooked dal makhani, masala dosa and filet américain have a pleasant taste. Visit Taj Bano to taste good curry dessert, chocolate mousse and stuffed pancakes. The whole impression won't be complete without cordial that is delicious here. Great soy coffee, fresh juices or masala chai will make your meal even more delicious and you'll surely come back.

There is a magnificent view from this place. Many visitors note that the staff is creative at this spot. Fast service is something clients agree upon here. This place is extremely overhyped. I expected a far better dining experience from a place of this standard, but it fell short in almost every way.The service was the biggest disappointment. Our server seemed completely lost—placing dishes right where our plates were supposed to be, and we repeatedly had to ask for cutlery, plates, and even fresh plates again. Each request took forever, and he ignored us multiple times. Initially, I thought he might have been busy, but it quickly became clear that this was just how he was. It became genuinely annoying at one point.To make matters worse, when we asked for tiramisu, he said it wasn’t available but that we could have desserts “on the house.” However, when we selected four different kinds, he suddenly said, “Not so much,” which was extremely embarrassing and unprofessional. His overall behavior was really, really bad.The food didn’t help the situation either. It was below average—bland and disappointing. The pesto pasta was watery, and the pizza had no flavor at all. The only dish worth mentioning was the mezze platter, which was actually good.Overall, I would not recommend this place for dining or staying. For the price they charge, the experience was pretty average and definitely not worth it.

We had dinner at buffet in the Taj Bano restaurant in the ITC Mughal Hotel. The food was delicious and the dining room was elegant. We were especially impressed by Anhad, one of the young chefs, who took time to explain the dishes offered in the buffet, made thoughtful recommendations, prepared a special chicken tikka masala just for us, and even suggested a wonderful dessert pairing (ie, sweet gulab jamun with vanilla ice cream, eaten together in a one-to-one ratio) that was spot on. Visited July 26 2025 – Day 23 in India It was our last day in Agra and my husband was saying since we are in Agra we should enjoy Mughlai food. He had read excellent reviews for Taj Bano and since it was walking distance from our hotel we decided to head there for dinner, my husband, our two daughters (5 and 7 years old), and I. When we arrived, the buffet service was in full swing. We weren’t interested in the buffet. We specifically wanted to order à la carte, and we informed the hostess of that as soon as we walked in. She acknowledged it and said it would be a few minutes, which was perfectly fine. But what happened next was completely baffling. The hostess led us to a table for four that was still covered with dirty plates, used napkins, and leftover food from the previous guests. It was an absolute mess. I couldn’t understand why anyone would seat a family, especially with two young children, at a table that hadn't even been cleared. My daughters kept asking why the table was so dirty, and I honestly didn’t know what to tell them. We tried to get the hostess’s attention again but she seemed overwhelmed or just not interested in responding. We eventually asked to speak to a manager. He came over but instead of being helpful or apologetic he seemed completely flustered and scattered, like a chicken with his head cut off. There was no clear communication, no ownership of the situation, and no effort to make things right. At that point we’d had enough. We got up and left. What should have been a relaxing dinner turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience for all of us. Absolutely terrible service. We won’t be going back.
