We have been regulars of hotel chandralok in lonavla since our childhood when the owner, Mr. Kishor bhai would welcome the customers with a smile and treat them to the best vegetarian unlimited thalis served in his hotel. Every customer was made to feel like king since those days uptil today, where his son, Anish and his wife, Brinda, have turned his passion into a legacy, serving their loyal clientele in exactly the same way, with the same quality of food. The staff treats their guests like family, urging them to eat one extra morsel before they leave, which is rarely seen in today's thali restaurants. We'd highly recommend everyone to visit this place as it feels more than just a restaurant, it resonates with the heart and feels like home. *Unlimited veg thali (lunch)* This wholesome vegetarian thali came with multiple starters, mains, desserts, sides and refreshing buttermilk. The fresh fruit basundi had small pieces of fresh fruit in a thick basundi and wasn't overly sweet. One could take thirds and fourths also of this delicious dessert. The aamras did not have any added sugar and comprised of only Alphonso mangoes. It was thick, cool and went really well with the hot puris. The potato and peas gravy vegetable was super tasty and flavourful. It was not overly spicy or oily and we relished it.The undhiyu which is a typical gujarati dish was exceptionally tasty and we could keep eating it with the rotlas. The next dish, gatta nu saak, is a Rajasthani dish comprising of flour dumplings cut up in a yummy gravy. The gravy had a lovely savoury taste with a punch of flavour and we loved it. The gujarati khatti meethi dal is ONE DISH which STANDS OUT in the thali for its flavour and exceptional taste. We relish it with steamed rice and yearn for it every time we visit this place! The Gujarati kadhi was sweet and lived upto our expectations as always. The bhindi vegetable was on the dry side and was a hit amongst us. We took 3 whole helpings of this dish and loved it.The Steamed rice was served with dal of 2 types - spicy or the sweet and sour dal. Both were served with ghee on top, adding to the aroma and flavour of this dish. The dal khichdi served was wholesome and exactly what we expected - not to spicy and not too sweet and tasted amazing with the melted ghee on top. It was homely and we found comfort in it! The farsan served was of 3 types - muthiya, kachori and yellow dhokala with sweet and sour chutney. The kachori was amazing and we'd highly recommend it. They also served a variety of papad and chapati with ghee on it.Then came the puranpoli, which was one of our favourites and the rotlas, puris and chaas. For the sides, we were served a variety of pickles which went really well with the food. Overall, every bit of this explicit thali was relished and devoured by us! We'd rate this place a 10/10 and would highly recommend it
