Unprofessional staff behaviour and south Indian plater tasteless Yesterday, I visited at sector 18 Hira sweet outlet and ordered 4 layer sweet box. Before finalizing sweet wanted to taste the sweets. I tasted the 3 sweet which i selected and wanted to one more for last layer but one one of of staff member refused, saying u have already tasted three, we can't offer more samples. I than spoke to the manager, who said that it's their policy not to allow tasting more than 3 sweets. However, he added that if really want to taste more, u could which was really confusing and in consistent. I found this policy quite strange and disappointing. I have never experience this kind of behavior at any other sweet shop infact at most sweet shops, customer are encouraged to taste before purchasing, especially when buying in quality. They have no sense how to greet customer. After that, we ordered a South Indian platter but were shocked to find the food cold and completely tasteless. It clearly wasn’t fresh and lacked any quality. Overall, this was a very disappointing visit. Between the poor service and the low-quality food, I’ve decided I will never visit to Hira Sweets.
Hira Sweets has been serving sugar dreams since 1912 – yup, over a century ago! It all started when Pt. Hira Lal Sharma opened a little shop in Shahdara, on the outskirts of Delhi. Fast forward to today, and Hira Sweets is a full-blown sweet empire, with one of the biggest mithai-making setups in India. And guess what? That original Shahdara shop is still alive and kicking – loved by OG fans and curious newbies alike. Their claim to fame? Balushahi – aka Makhan Bada. Imagine a doughnut, but desi-style: made with maida, fried golden in pure ghee, then dunked in sugary bliss. Crispy outside, soft inside, and totally addictive. But it’s not just sweets. They’ve got snacks and chaats that hit differently – all fresh, all in cool, comfy AC vibes. My personal GOAT list? Onion Kachori, Chole Bhature, and Masala Dosa. During festival season, the place is buzzing. Lines snake out the door, everyone’s here to snag their share of fresh mithai magic before it’s gone.
