Gopal Khaman House has been founded by a couple in Surat, Rajesh Patel & Amitaben Patel where they started as a small Locha place to a brand which is spreading wings across the nation. Gopal Locho is a very famous joint in Surat and they have recently started in Mumbai. The Kandivali franchise is owned by Nikhil Shah who ensures the water to make this amazing dish is brought every day from Surat.Crazy isn’t it but the belief seems to be that change of water will change the taste of LOCHO. Locho is a very famous Gujarati chat dish which took birth in a much unexpected way. People say that there is a very funny story behind it. A cook in Gujarat was preparing Khaman which is a Gujarati dish made of gram flour, accidentally added extra water in it and said, ‘Arey Locho Thai Gayao Yaar!’ ‘Locho’ which means mistake. He topped it with coriander, ghee and another garnishing to save the dish and guess what LOCHO was born. The place is a tiny joint which serves best Locho varieties. The menu has some really innovative dishes like butter locho, Green Garlic locho, Chinese locho, Onion & cream locho, Italian locho, Cheese tandoori locho etc. To add to their never-ending locho options they have locho burger, locho rolls, locho sandwich, and even Locho Pizza! .
We found the entire experience quite refreshing and would surely recommend you to visit them once at least for the sake of LOCHO.
