Carmel of Christ King is what you should visit before wonderful meals at this restaurant. East India Room offers you great dishes of Indian cuisine. The hallmark of this place is serving nicely cooked pilaf, fried prawns and fried fish. Good baked alaska, ice cream and custard dessert have an appetizing taste. Delicious cordial is what may make you return to this spot. A lot of visitors order great coffee or good tea.
The knowledgeable staff welcomes visitors all year round. The nice service is a big benefit of this restaurant. Delicious meals at affordable prices are offered here. Would have given zero stars if possible. The stars are added for the decor and environment. Had a pathetic dining experience. We were celebrating an event with a group of people. Despite pre-booking we were seated at 2 different tables making interaction difficult. Food was 3rd grade with pricing totally not justifying it. Service was poor. The food was the biggest let down.Some of the items were stale. The chicken Biryani was worse than a Kolkata road side stall, naan was leathery and difficult to chew, bhetki fish starter served at room temperature,Pulao was terribly greasy to name a few. They passed off a coffee flavored ice-cream as nolen gur icecream. Starter portions very small. Just 3pcs in a plate. We didn't want to create a scene infront of our guests but were extremely disappointed by what we experienced. Almost every guest of ours politely put it to us that the food and service was below expected. It was a waste of money and embarassing for us to have hosted a dinner where nobody could relish the food. Will never recommend East India Room. Skip the food!
