????Guava Lava (Rs 300/-): Vodka and Guava based drink as the name suggests. Was in their special drinks menu. The drink was both sweet & spicy
????Half a dozen coriander lime chicken tenders, lemon coriander jalapeño mayo : an amazing and mouthwatering appetizer from a menu curated by Chef @chefshaunkenworthy.

The service was a little off. The waiters seemed confused about what was on the menu and what wasn’t. They ended up serving us the wrong dessert. Also one of them seemed a little rude.

perfect place for a nice dinner and soft music plus good crowd.
do try their strawberry mojitos and the crispy fried vegetables. though the baked ravioli was really avoidable. their music and ambience is something that makes you want to come again and relax.

Recommendations-Shrimp Tempura

Another place which has been on my to visit places for a while now, Doppio was also part of the Dineout’s GIRF and I decided to take advantage of the 50% discount during the last few days of the fest. I visited this place on a Saturday afternoon for an early lunch as the restaurant shuts down at 3 p.m.

AMBIANCE

Doppio is situated at Breach Candy and in the same place which also has other places like The Bombay Bronx and Filli.

I was here for an early lunch hence the place was completely empty when I arrived and it was so throughout till I left. The restaurant has BEAUTIFUL, classy interiors. The whole theme of the restaurant is black and white which is stunning.

The restaurant offers various seating arrangements, some cozy couches, the chairs and tables seating and also a long table with chairs. There is a bar section too which also has some seating.

They play some decent English music in the background, but this place is perfect during daytime for having a conversation. I am sure this place would make a nice night time party area as well.

The lighting here is great during day time with ample of natural lighting.

SERVICE

The service was great; I was able to redeem the Dineout discount with ease.

The server knew the menu well and made some suggestions and was also open to customise a few dishes according to my preference. The servers were attentive and quick.

The service of the dishes was fast too.

FOOD

What I Ordered-

Lime Chicken Tenders- Half a dozen coriander lime chicken tenders which are also topped with lemon coriander jalapeno mayo.

These chicken tenders are served on individual sticks; the chicken is extremely soft and juicy. These are perfectly cooked. The chicken is easy to chew.

The taste is subtle with that punch from lime. The jalapenos also add that slight tanginess in the dish. There is also a light mayo on top of the chicken tenders and also on the bottom of the chicken. The combination is absolutely delicious.

Shrimp Tempura- These are shrimps with wasabi mayo on the bottom. These shrimps are marinated in a simple batter and deep fried.

These are perfectly cooked, very crispy on the outside giving a nice crunch, and soft on the inside. These have a slight layering of spices giving it a mild flavour.

The mayo on the bottom pairs well in providing in additional taste to the dish, but the shrimp even when eaten as is are a hit. The serving portion is average with about 7-8 pieces of shrimp.
This is a must try.

Nacho Chips- These bowl of nachos was served with pico de gallo salsa and cheddar cheese sauce.
The nachos did seem like they were right out of a packet and not freshly prepared.

These were served in a generous quantity and topped with pico de gallo salsa and are also loaded with guacamole and a little bit of sour cream. This was finally topped with cheddar cheese sauce.

The cheese sauce was not evenly layered and I asked the server for some additional cheese sauce, which he did provide for.

The additional cheese sauce was served hot but does become sticky and stretchy as it cools down.

The whole combination was good, but I have tried nachos at other places which were slightly better. They also have two additional topping options but I selected the nachos to be served just as is.

Zesty Chicken Flatbread-This was an 18” inch flatbread, with small shredded pieces of zesty chicken with a combination of Ricotta cheese and garnished with some gremolata herbs.

The flatbread was extremely thin and crispy. This was cooked perfectly with a right amount of crunch.

There are a total of 8 pieces of flatbread.

The zesty chicken made the flatbread on the spicy side with that punch of chilli. This was okay even though I like spicy food this was a tad bit too spicy for my liking. All in all this an average dish, was expecting a more indulgent offering.

PRICING

The pricing is high; the Dineout discount was a great time barred offer which is not applicable anymore.

The restaurant charges a 10% service charge and also a 5% GST, which does make the whole meal much pricier.

The 50% discount made the meal extremely value for money and affordable. My total bill was Rs 1050/- which was good.

The quality of the food was top notch, the quantity was decent.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Overall I had a good experience here; the food is good but nothing extraordinary. This is a decent one time visit place.
