It was amazing to witness that almost all services in the Ashram and Ashram related activities are performed by Volunteers who work tirelessly as if they own the Ashram. Is this the India Mother prayed for , is this non hierarchy of living is what the Mother dreamt for our nation is what we will all have to ask ourselves. The answers are yes - but again the question is, can we achieve outcomes as desired by the Mother and Sri Aurobindo for ourselves in our nation.
It gives me pride to say after a few days stay I met an old couple whom their children deserted. I had the utmost confidence in saying to them- don't worry ask the Ashram and they will provide ashram for you, they will provide help for you, they will care for you.
Back home, I asked myself can I have the same confidence to say the same about our Government and about our leaders whom we elect. I probably can not. The difference in life in the ashram and outside, in the same country is huge. And every one who visits the ashram should ask why is the gap so big outside of the Ashram and how can we make India a better country like the Ashram in Pondicherry.
Let's atleast try to dream what Sri Aurobindo and the Mother dreamt for our country and if possible let us make the dream come true for us and our children's future.
