Darjeeling Cafe Varkala is a multi-cuisine establishment that offers a variety of dishes from different parts of the world. The ambiance is lit and welcoming, with beautiful views of the ocean and live music that adds to the great sauna of the mood. The interior design is trendy and cute, with a Gokarna/Goa kind of vibe that gives it a unique touch. The price range is reasonable, with heavy prices on liquor shots but coming to the cliff area, it's fine. The restaurant is located on the Varkala cliff area, providing a stunning view of the sunset sea.

One of the must-try dishes is the Fish in Banana Leaf with Coconut Rice, which is a delicious seafood dish that is beautifully presented. Another recommended dish is the Thukpa, which is a spicy noodle soup that is perfect for those who love spicy food. The cocktails are also worth trying, especially the Watermelon Mojito, which is very fresh and refreshing.

Apart from the food and drinks, Darjeeling Cafe Varkala offers outdoor seating where customers can enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean. The staff is courteous and friendly, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. It is a great place to chill with friends, watch the sunset, and enjoy some good food and drinks.

Overall, Darjeeling Cafe Varkala is a fine dining spot that offers a unique dining experience with its trendy ambiance, delicious food, and stunning views.

Very dull place and the service was below average. Was difficult to get the attention of the staff even when 3-4 tables were occupied. Beer served was suspect- he didn’t even show us the bottle and it definitely didn’t taste like KF We ordered a salad- and slightly old paneer was included in the name of feta cheese Main course served was so slow that we lost our appetite, by the time it arrived. Best part was peanut masala, the onions n tomato weren’t fresh and it made the whole order quite stale. Top it all was mosquitos and a badly managed restroom. I visited Darjeeling Cafe a few weeks back, and it quickly became one of my favorite hangout spots on Varkala cliff. The place has a really nice vibe, especially in the evenings, lively, relaxed, and filled with people just chilling out, enjoying the music and the sea breeze. The food here was impressive. We tried the Chicken Pizza, which was cheesy just the way I like it, great flavor and satisfying. One of the unexpected highlights for me was the Peanut Chat. I’m not usually a fan of peanuts, but the way they mixed it with papad, cucumber, and a spicy salad twist made it absolutely delicious. We also had Finger Fish, which was super tasty and well-cooked. The Veg Pasta, on the other hand, was a bit average, not bad, but nothing to write home about. The cafe also has a decent selection of mocktails and cocktails, which adds to the chill vibe. They even have a dance floor, which we didn’t try, but it looked like some folks were really enjoying themselves there. With its beachside location and vibrant atmosphere, Darjeeling Cafe is definitely one of the best spots to spend your evening on Varkala cliff. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in Varkala! Dear Aleena, thank you so much for the amazing review! We're really happy to hear you enjoyed the vibe, food, and overall experience at Darjeeling Cafe. It means a lot coming from a Local Guide like you. We’re especially glad you loved the Chicken Pizza and our signature Peanut Chat — that one surprises a lot of people! We'll definitely take your feedback on the Veg Pasta into account and see how we can improve it. Hope you get to try the dance floor next time — it gets pretty fun! Looking forward to welcoming you back soon for another chill evening by the sea. Warm regards, Team Darjeeling Cafe

I strongly advise against visiting this café. The food quality is terrible—nothing like what you see in influencer videos. The dishes we ordered were poorly prepared and completely unappetizing. I’ve attached some pictures to show just how bad it was. Getting to the café is another nightmare. The road is difficult and not worth the hassle, especially when there are so many better options in Varkala. On top of that, the staff was rude and unprofessional, making the experience even worse. There are plenty of amazing cafés in Varkala—don’t waste your time and money here! Dear Rohini, We appreciate all feedback, but we also believe in fairness. Our team puts in a lot of effort to serve fresh, high-quality food, and we stand by our commitment to providing a great experience. Your claim about the food being “terrible” does not reflect the experience of the majority of our guests. As for the road conditions, they are not within our control, and many visitors still find their way here to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere we offer. Regarding our staff, we do not tolerate rudeness, but we also expect mutual respect between guests and our team. We are always open to constructive feedback, but exaggeration and misinformation do not help anyone. If there was a genuine issue, we would have been happy to address it during your visit. Wishing you the best, Darjeeling Café Varkala
