Both Ganesh Karthik Temple and Dahlia are recommended for visiting. According to the clients' reviews, Japanese dishes here are quite nice. Degust nicely cooked fried tuna, calamari and chicken sushi at this restaurant. Here you may drink delicious beer. Take your chance to taste good japanese tea or great ginger tea.

A lot of guests mark that the staff is creative at Dahlia. Terrific service is something that visitors note in their comments. Prices here are reported to be democratic. The reviews of this place mention the beautiful decor as a definite plus.

We went to the restaurant with a bit of apprehension as to whether the Japanese cuisine will suit our palate . But to our surprise we liked it well . The restaurant is quite small with about 7/8 tables and it is advisable to book a table a few hours in advance. We had yaki meshi which is fried rice and ramen .We also had fried chicken and egg maki. All tasted nice . Ambience is reasonably good. Enough parking available in the campus. Service was a tad slow but the two ladies who serve are quite warm and pleasing and they suggest suitable items in the menu since we were new to Japanese cuisine .Overall we enjoyed our lunch

It's been a while since I went to Dahlia, but I felt that I must write a review about this place because I simply have fallen in love with it. Dahlia is the true 'OG' of Japanese restaurants in Madras. Located in Kaveri Complex which looks old and run down, but deep down I knew that the food in Dahlia was going to be great. It is because in these nondescript places, you find true gems! On first glance, it's a small place. The owner, an old Japanese man sits at the front and greets everybody and the waitresses guide you to your table. You're given a choice to sit 'Japanese style' or 'Western style'. The walls are lined with pictures of Japan, Kimonos and there's a bookshelf that has 'Manga' so that the diners can read while they eat. We chose to sit Western style and the menus were given immediately. It's quite large, ranging from Sushi to Yakisoba and Yakiniku, safe to say there's a lot of choice. To start with, we shared a plate of some Maki rolls and Yakiniku, while for mains, my father went for the "Oyakodon", while I went for the Tan Tan Men. The rolls arrived first. As always, I love a Maki roll. A bit of soy sauce, a bit of pickled ginger and a touch of wasabi makes it beautiful. Light and refreshing. The Yakiniku was something I relished. Tender chunks of beef, grilled and covered in a sauce with a flavour that I cannot describe completely. It's savory with a bit of sweetness yet salty at the same time. Nevertheless I loved it. It would be perfect if I had a pint too. Next came the mains. My dad loved the Oyakodon. He said the egg and chicken were cooked perfectly. Soft and was filling! I was looking forward to the Tan Tan Men, and lo and behold! It was massive! A bowl of noodles, pork and egg floating in a rich, mildly spicy broth, mixed with a bit of chilli oil(?) It was absolutely brilliant. This was definitely one of the best ramen I've ever had. The broth was full of flavour, rich and the spice burns the back of your throat. Thin slices of pork and egg added to the beauty of the dish. The noodles were soft, yet had a bit of firmness so that it didn't become too soggy, yet had incorporated all the flavour of that broth. A perfect 10. Dahlia is one place I will never forget, because it is unassuming, yet the treasures hidden within is stuff of legends. Will revisit as many times as I can
