We went for la carte dinner , but all the food we ordered was very blent and not upto the mark.. they don’t even have wash basin for hand wash and
gravy was to oily.

They offer basic meal. Like to have the guests choose the default option - buffet. If you decide on à la carte- be warned that it is worse than buffet.

They are not keen and I don’t think they are willing to change.

Me and my fellow foodies were invited for Sunday lunch at Citrus Cafe - Lemon Tree Guindy, organised by Zomato as part of a foodie meetup. The place is compact but didn't look cramped, owing to the bright natural light and also the color and decor. Gives a pleasant and relaxing feel.

We were greeted by the manager and the Head Chef of the place and were briefed about the restaurant and the lunch they've curated for us. The place serves both à la carte and a lunch buffet. But the lunch for us was a curated menu and served like a TDH buffet (menu attached in the pics).

Litchi Chilli Mocktail was served as a welcome drink and it looked and tasted great. The menu had 5 Veg and 5 Non-veg starters and same number of main course and 4 desserts. Service was very attentive and we received answers for all our questions promptly. But not many of  the vegetarian dishes stood out for me, except a couple of dishes - Bharvan Aloo and Baby corn Quesadilla. But my friends seemed to enjoy few of the non veg dishes and the Kung Pao chicken was everyone's favourite. However all of us felt that the dishes were cold and hard to eat, which made us feel that the taste is compromised. Also, service was not quick and we were made to sit with nothing in the plate for a long time between subsequent courses.

Main course was a great downer and the Gobi guljisthan was literally ice cold and semi raw. Friends felt the same with non veg dishes except for a couple of dishes - Prawn Trio and Citrus Spl Fried Fish - which were good.  We wrapped up the main course very quickly as we were almost full with the starters and also coz of the fact that, there was nothing great in the main course.

Desserts took a very long time to arrive, and there was a huge confusion between the Moong dal halwa and Kaasi halwa (white pumpkin halwa) even between the staff and also amongst us, as both of it didn't taste like kaasi halwa, while one tasted little like moong dal halwa. Chocolate cake was a great relief from the confusion of halwas.  All of us jumped to the Orange malai kulfi which tasted great and also presented in a unique way.

Good things about the place is ambiance and service.
Whereas, being a restaurant within a star property that has branches all over the country, the effort they put in to maintain the quality of food and consistency in the dishes is no way near to the acceptable standards (especially ice cold food in a food tasting event !!!!) Needs serious attention in this regards. . .
