Chauk by Fort is undoubtedly a visually stunning restaurant that promises a fine-dining experience with its lavish décor and five-star-like ambiance. The spacious layout and ample parking make it a convenient choice for diners looking for a premium experience. However, while the aesthetics and comfort of the place are impressive, the food falls significantly short of expectations. We started our meal with their vegetarian starter combo, which turned out to be a major disappointment. The broccoli, in particular, was undercooked and soggy, making it unpleasant to eat. Other elements of the platter lacked flavor and finesse, leaving us wishing we had opted for something else. Given the grandeur of the restaurant, one would expect well-prepared, flavorful dishes, but unfortunately, the execution was lacking. The kitchen definitely needs to step up its game to match the restaurant’s high-end ambiance. One of the few highlights of our visit was the complimentary welcome jaljeera drink served at the entrance. It was refreshing and well-balanced, setting high hopes for the meal ahead, only to be let down by the actual food. Another area that requires attention is hygiene, particularly the washrooms, which were not as clean as one would expect from a place of this caliber. A little more attention to maintenance and cleanliness would enhance the overall dining experience. Overall, Chauk by Fort has the potential to be an outstanding restaurant, but it needs to significantly improve its food quality and hygiene to justify its premium setting. While the ambiance is remarkable, a restaurant ultimately needs to deliver on taste and service, both of which left us wanting more.
