We’ve been regulars at Chin Chin Chu and usually order the same sushi every time. It seems like they’ve changed their sushi chef though. We ordered our usual Tempura Asparagus and Philadelphia Cheese Roll but both tasted completely different this time. There was capsicums and cabbage/lettuce in them and the flavor was really off. When we asked if the chef or recipe had changed they said no, but something was definitely different. This used to be our go-to spot for sushi, but unfortunately, we’ll have to skip it for now.

Chin Chin Chu, Juhu, where do I even start? If disappointment had an address, this restaurant would be it. We spent a whopping ₹6000 for three people expecting at least basic courtesy and decent food. Instead, what we got was an absolute circus of rude staff, hidden charges, and food colder than their service. The server acted like he was doing us a personal favor by even existing, let alone serving. Forget politeness, he couldn’t even bother to mention the sleazy hidden charges on the menu. The Swiggy Dineout booking CLEARLY stated 15% off on the main bill, but surprise surprise, when the bill came, they magically “forgot” about it. When we brought it up, the manager swooped in, not to help, but to be even ruder than the server. Honestly, if arrogance were a dish, it would’ve been the only thing served hot that afternoon. And the bill trickery? Stated ₹1750, but somehow it turned into ₹2000. Bravo, Chin Chin Chu, you’ve mastered the art of daylight robbery under the disguise of “fine dining.” Now the food. Oh, the food. Average, bland, served late, and colder than my enthusiasm after the first bite. For a place once hyped, this was nothing but reheated mediocrity on a plate. Six thousand rupees for cold, tasteless food and the privilege of being treated like trash? Thanks, but no thanks. and mind it, it wasn’t my first time visiting this place, i’ve visited this place almost 3 times this year, the first two times were a good experience, but the recent one was just not acceptable. Honestly, eating instant noodles at home would’ve been a five-star Michelin experience compared to this nightmare. Final verdict: Chin Chin Chu should change its name to Cheat Cheat Chu. Save your money, save your time, save your sanity. There are hundreds of better restaurants in Mumbai where they don’t scam you, feed you cold food, and treat you like a nuisance. This place deserves to be empty.
