Chef Soumyen's Kitchen in Calangute is an absolute must-visit. The restaurant has a great ambience and the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food is absolutely delicious, with a wide range of options to choose from. The specialties of the house are the Biryani, sizzlers, Butterscotch Creme Brulee and the Fillet Steak. All these dishes are cooked to perfection and have a unique flavor that will keep you coming back for more. The desserts are also something to look forward to, with the Butterscotch Creme Brulee being the highlight. Chef Soumyen himself is very helpful and kind, greeting guests personally on arrival and taking time to chat with them during their meal. Overall, Chef Soumyen's Kitchen is a great experience, and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Reading these reviews I’m not sure if I’ve stepped into an alternate universe…? “ Like a Michelin starred restaurant” Total nonsense! I have been coming to India for over 20 years and this ranks as one of the worst places I’ve been to. I had the starter of a side of onion rings… straight out of a freezer and tasted stale. My wife had the Souffle which was a jelly like blob of blue cheese (bizarrely served with cream crackers)… she took one bite and left it… then onto main course, I had the special, Norwegian Salmon with home made chips.. Salmon was ok but fairly certain the chips came out of another freezer bag… My wife had the Veg Sizzler which was a hotchpotch of paneer, broccoli, pineapple, cabbage, noodles and a jacket potato… She ate the pineapple and jacket potato, and left the rest as it was “horrible” Throughout the meal we were “entertained” by an old british guy singing a variety of dirges with the help of a prerecorded machine… The dirges turned out to be an apt accompaniment to the food… Only good things were the wine and the service The chef can’t blame someone else in the kitchen as he came to our table to introduce himself… I have no axe to grind here… I believed the reviews, more fool me… Chef, please don’t deny we ate there like you have done with other reviewers. You need to up your game massively to match your ratings Very disappointed. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 1 Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹2,000+

Thank you for your review. We’re glad you enjoyed the salmon, chips, wine, and the service. As you yourself mentioned, taste is subjective what one guest dislikes is enjoyed by many others who return to us regularly. All our food is freshly prepared, though we understand not every dish suits every palate. We respect your opinion and wish you better dining experiences ahead.

I’m not usually one to write reviews, but Chef Soumyens Kitchenn truly deserves one. The food was absolutely outstanding! For starters, we enjoyed a rich Stilton and broccoli soup and a classic prawn cocktail, both of which were superb. For mains, we had perfectly cooked steak and a beautifully presented sea bass—genuinely some of the best food I’ve had in a long time! The experience was made even more special as it was my husband’s birthday. The staff went above and beyond by decorating our table with balloons and petals, even surprising him with a cake. To top it off, the chef came out playing the harmonica, which added a fantastic, personal touch. The service was exceptional, with attentive and friendly staff that made the evening unforgettable. I usually love trying new places, but I can’t wait to come back here again. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for top-notch dining in Goa. We’ll definitely be returning—this restaurant is truly in a class of its own! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Recommended dishes: Butterscotch Creme Brulee, Fries, Prawn Cocktail
