All the customers adore gorgeous Chinese and Thai cuisines at this restaurant. In accordance with the reviewers' opinions, waiters serve tasty filet américain, lamb's fry and chinese chicken here. To try good ice cream, rice cakes and chocolate cakes is a really good idea. Come here and have delicious beer or good wine. Great jasmine tea, matcha or Chinese tea are among the most popular drinks at Chap Chay.

A restaurant you need to do homework for before you go! Went for a treat but didn't like. Food OK, except non-veg main was bad. Staff were unavailable even with most tables empty. Usually I like that, but there were no prices, no explanation of how it worked. So for those who want a primer... you get given your starters at your table. They are all offered within about 3 mins from sitting down, and are whacked onto the same tiny plate. I think it's so you cannot take much of them?! It made it hard to enjoy them except as a sort of kidgeree of dishes. You don't get seconds of anything, at least I didn't see how to. The main course you put into the metal bowl yourself, which you should pick up from below the live counter and put into a wooden slot. Leave the meat, if you want any, in a clear plastic pot on the side, don't remove it from its pot, though you might want to skip the meat as it was unpleasantly chewy. Hand the whole bowl and tray over to the live counter to cook, but first fill in the form with your table number and the sauce you want it cooked in. Your table number isn't actually written anywhere on your table that I could see, so you'll have to find someone to ask what it is. They serve the dish to your table when it is cooked. I couldn't get anyone to explain almost any of this. Heck I couldn't even get a glass of water after the first one, and had to resort to pilfering a jug myself from the abandoned server's counter. There was a green tea mug on the table but I was never offered drinks or a menu, or had a chance to ask for them. I'm OK with relaxed service, but given that it's not a normal restaurant procedure I just felt out of place. Maybe you'll like it though... It looks pretty! It cost 2.5k per person for Sunday lunch.
