Chaikash at Khyber is, without a doubt, one of the finest places I’ve had coffee at—not just in Gulmarg, but across all of Kashmir. It blends luxury with a stunning atmosphere that’s hard to match. The setting is serene and elegant, with a kind of quiet charm that makes you want to linger just a little longer. Whether you’re visiting after a long walk through the snow or simply looking for a good cup of coffee in an exceptional space, Chaikash delivers. The staff deserve a special mention—each one of them was polite, professional, and genuinely warm. The barista, in particular, took time to speak with us and seemed passionate about the craft. Even the receptionist was incredibly helpful and welcoming, something that elevates the entire experience. That said, not everything was perfect during our visit. The air conditioning seemed to be malfunctioning yesterday, and the indoors were a little warmer than expected, which did take away from the otherwise cozy ambiance. More distracting, though, was the presence of flies inside the cafe—several of them kept buzzing around and occasionally landed on our cakes, which was quite frustrating, especially in a space that otherwise feels premium. Despite these hiccups, I’d still recommend Chaikash without hesitation. The quality of the coffee, the ambience, and the service make it a standout destination. A little more attention to cleanliness and comfort on warmer days, and it would be flawless. Price per person: ₹1,000–1,200 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
