A loved one ordered a cake for a special occasion, and while the flavor was decent, the icing work was shockingly bad. I’m genuinely surprised this passed any kind of quality check. The message on the cake looked like it was written in a rush by someone holding the piping bag for the first time, uneven, messy, and barely legible. “HBD MY PRINCESS” turned into a cryptic puzzle we had to decode. For a place that claims to offer professional baked goods, this was unacceptable. Presentation matters, especially when it’s for a special moment, and this completely missed the mark. A delightful spot for coffee enthusiasts, maintaining the expected brand value. The staff was attentive, contributing to a positive experience. However, the shop's opening at 10 am didn't align with its readiness, as cleaning activities were underway during those hours. The cappuccino and latte, while bitter, could benefit from a switch to freshly medium-roasted coffee beans instead of dark roast. Unfortunately, no latte art was present. The croissants was tasty and full of crispiness. It would be great to see an expanded variety of croissants and cookies on the menu that complement coffee. Additionally, introducing drinking water service would enhance the overall customer experience. Despite these points, Cafe Coffee Day in Shillong remains a decent choice for coffee lovers.
