The food was a bit ok ok we tried around 15 food some like BREAD and CHOCOLATE which had 75 percent chocolate, bread was super sour the had a good audience the cat which was very cute had a good time pass till the food comes the parking we a problem as it was a small area. The price was a bit expensive for the food the service was good but they have to improve a more . We offen don't get place to sit and eat as the tourist sit with their work and they do not go the people without place have to stand and eat. The over the place place can be visited on in a life span a person can order 1 or 2 dish not more than that as it be can heavy order bear breakfast it was so good and light . I never imagined I’d be writing this on what was supposed to be a joyful day — my sister’s birthday.We visited Bread and Chocolate in Auroville with excitement, expecting a peaceful brunch. Unfortunately, what we experienced instead was deeply upsetting and left a lasting impression for all the wrong reasons.We had ordered a pancake, 2 cold coffee and veg Rosti from their menu. There was no mention of egg in the ingredients, and since I avoid eggs, I politely requested if the pancake could be returned or revised — especially because we hadn’t even touched it. I wasn’t demanding a refund, just asking for understanding, hoping for a reasonable conversation.But instead of empathy or even basic courtesy, the staff member shocked me — she came out loudly, in front of everyone, shaming me for simply making a request. Her exact words were something like “Do not even suggest such things,” delivered in an unkind, dismissive tone that echoed through the café. On her birthday, this public embarrassment felt both harsh and unnecessary.I understand mistakes happen — maybe the menu wasn’t clear. But what truly hurt was the complete lack of kindness. A little compassion would’ve gone a long way. As customers, we don’t expect perfection, but we do expect to be treated like human beings — with respect.This experience ruined my day. I sincerely hope the management reflects on how much impact a single moment of insensitivity can have — and trains their staff accordingly. No one deserves to be treated this way, especially not over a simple, polite request.

Located in the quaint village of Auroville, this place serves really amazing and different bakery dishes.It was somewhat 3-4PM in the evening and we wanted to have a quick bite and so we went to Bread & Chocolate, already on my list to visit in Pondicherry. After a lot of discussion, whether to have smoothies or not since we were already full, we went ahead with mushroom sandwich and ordered a cold coffee for my mother.Sandwich was unlike usual, and offered a unique and delightful flavour. We two, me and my sister finished it off within minutes.I simply loved the vibes at the cafe and also we got to meet new people.Would definitely visit again to try croissant, pancakes & quiche.
