I finally tried the iconic Bismi Hotel after hearing a lot of hype, and it was a solid food experience overall. Since it is located right near the junction, car parking is quite difficult, so I’d highly recommend visiting by bike instead. The restaurant has a traditional, old-school feel but is notably clean and well-maintained, though the proximity of a mutton butchery next door might be off-putting for some. We tried the porotta, mutton curry, mutton perattu, oratty, and dosa; while the curry was just okay, the mutton perattu was easily the highlight due to its excellent taste, generous quantity, and value for money. One of the Worst mutton biriyani I’ve had in a long time! I have heard a lot of hype about the famous Bismi Hotel and its mutton dishes, but I never got a chance to visit until today. We went there with reasonable expectations and ordered the mutton biryani. It was served on a banana leaf with salad, pickle, and pappadam on the side. I actually don’t know how this qualifies to be called a "biriyani" as the dish we received was mutton curry at the bottom with ghee rice placed on top. The so-called biriyani did contain a boiled egg though! As I dug in, it was a complete disappointment. There were clumps of plain, flavorless ghee rice sitting over a mutton curry. As for the mutton, the pieces were really poor. They were inedible, which turned the dish into a mediocre ghee rice, mutton gravy, and boiled egg combo. Pathetic. Seeing this, we ordered a mutton roast, hoping for better pieces but guess what, it offered the same disappointment. One thing that shocked me was the quantity of the mutton roast. It was served on a tiny ceramic plate with hardly 5–6 pieces, and 85% of them were hard/undercooked/inedible. I am totally disappointed and frustrated, as the quality and quantity don't come anywhere close to the price they are charging. (₹250 for a mutton Biryani and ₹180 for the roast). They have their own mutton stall right opposite the hotel from where they likely get their meat. So with much experience, shouldn't they know how to choose the best, most tender meat for their customers? Absolutely disappointed, and I really don't wish this kind of situation on my worst enemy. Maybe all this was just a one-time scenario, but I really don’t want to take another risk or travel that far again. I do not recommend this hotel. I tried mutton biriyani with lots of expectations.But not value for money . They taking rice and adding mutton curry pieces to the rice . Not satisfied.Heard about that there other items are good but I didn’t tried it out .
