A perfect place for benne dosa lovers, a new sensation in the food town- the benne dosa is being loved by the urban crowd and Filter Kaapi has mastered the art of creating mouth watering and delicious benne dosa's. Located in garodia nagar, ghatkopar the hub of food lovers, they serve lip smacking benne dosas, idli wada, podi idlis and filter coffee We were here to try their dosas and it didn't disappoint us, we tried- 1. Garlic roast cheese Podi benne masala dosa- The star of the menu, delicious podi sprinkled over dosa batter with a layer of roasted garlic chutney, garnished with cheese and filled with signature aloo masala. Served with thick coconut chutney and red chutney, a must try and highly recommended dish 2. Mysore masala benne dosa- Goodness of mysore masala complimenting the benne dosa and the aloo masala. A perfect dish again 3. Ghee podi thatte idli- A heavenly dish for idli lovers, a big size idli with lots of podi masala and loaded with pure nandini ghee. 4. Mendu Wada- Crispy wada outside loaded with coconut & chillies, softish inside, tastes delicious with red and white chutney 5. Pineapple sheera- Served piping hot, loaded with dry fruits. Goodness of fresh pineapple. A signature dish 6. Cold bournvita- a refreshing drink to compliment the food items They have a hygienic open kitchen, they use pure nandini ghee for all their items. The staff is polite and respectful. I had Benne Dosa for the very first time in Davangere, the birthplace of this iconic delicacy, and the taste has stayed with me ever since. So when I tried the Podi Benne Masala Dosa at Benne Kaapi Corner, not once, but twice, I was genuinely delighted. The flavours and taste are spot on and wonderfully nostalgic. The crisp yet soft dosa, the generous dollop of pure Nandini unsalted butter, and the perfectly balanced podi come together beautifully.
