Azrak Lucknow has clearly gone downhill — and not subtly. We walked in as a group of three and were made to sit at what was very obviously a two-seater table awkwardly “converted” to fit three people. When we pointed this out, instead of being gracious or accommodating, the staff insisted — almost defensively — that it was a table meant for three. It wasn’t. Anyone with eyes could see that. Hospitality isn’t about proving a point; it’s about making guests comfortable. That basic principle seems to have been forgotten. After insisting, we were finally shifted — but the reluctance said more than the action. It set the tone for what followed. Then came the food — and that was an even bigger disappointment. The portion sizes have noticeably shrunk. For the price Azrak charges, the reduced servings feel stingy. Worse, the quality has taken a hit. The much-hyped Parda Biryani arrived without the parda. No theatrical reveal, no sealed dough crust — just what tasted like an ordinary mutton pulao. When your signature dish loses the very element it’s named after, it’s not innovation — it’s dilution. The karelly, once a standout, was almost burnt. Not charred for flavor — burnt. And the signature table-side flambé, which once elevated the experience and justified the premium positioning, was missing entirely. It felt rushed, careless, and stripped of character. Azrak used to feel special. Now it feels like a restaurant coasting on its old reputation while quietly cutting corners — on space, on portions, and on quality. If this is the new standard, it’s deeply disappointing. Premium pricing demands premium consistency. Right now, Azrak is delivering neither. ⸻ We would like to sincerely thank Dhiresh and Ganesh for their wonderful hospitality today at Saraca Hotel. They ensured we were comfortable throughout and took great care of us with warmth and professionalism. The food was absolutely amazing — beautifully presented, rich in flavor, and truly delightful. Every dish reflected quality and attention to detail, making our dining experience memorable. We truly appreciate the excellent service and look forward to visiting again. Thank you once again for such a pleasant experience! Regards Yoshita Bagchi Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I have been a frequent visitor to Azrak Restaurant in Lucknow, but my recent experience was deeply disappointing and shocking. As someone who has dined at many restaurants around the world, I can confidently say that the policies and service at Azrak have become unprofessional and far below acceptable standards. Out of the five dishes I ordered, two had human hairs in them. When I pointed this out the first time, a staff member rudely dismissed it, claiming it was “a fabric piece.” Despite this, I chose not to create a scene and waited patiently for the rest of my order. After 45 minutes of being ignored, I asked for the cheque, only to have one dish from my order delivered instead. This dish also had not one, but three human hairs in it. I called the chef, who apologized profusely and begged for another chance. Although my family was thoroughly disgusted and no longer comfortable eating there, we politely asked for the remaining order out of courtesy. However, when the bill arrived, I noticed they had only removed the dish with the hairs and charged us for the rest, despite the poor quality and the fact that we were forced to eat under pressure. What’s worse is the glaring favoritism towards social figures and influencers while regular customers like us are treated poorly. The staff’s rude behavior, long wait times, and lack of accountability are unacceptable for a restaurant claiming to offer a fine dining experience. Azrak has lost its charm and quality. I will never be visiting again, and I strongly urge management to re-evaluate their service standards. There are far better restaurants in Lucknow and beyond that value all their customers equally.
