Avenue Bakes and Grills is a perfect all-in-one spot for tea, coffee, snacks, bakery items, and even delicious grills and biryani. The biryani here is especially worth trying - flavorful and well-prepared. Along with that, their bakery items, coffee, and other dishes are also really good, making it a great place for any time of the day. The ground floor is non-AC and usually a bit crowded, but they also have a family-friendly AC dining room on the first floor which is quieter, more comfortable, and ideal for a relaxed meal. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a good combination of bakery, snacks, and full meals under one roof. Twice had I gone to this restaurant. Once for breakfast and the other for lunch. Both the times were very disappointing. For breakfast I had appam and egg curry. Compared to the price of the curry, the quality was 4/10. Flavourless. At that time too the service was bad.
Second time I went there hoping that their meals would be good... Or better. Unfortunately when I went there they were out of meals and I had to adjust with Porotta and fish curry... The Porotta was sooo flavourless. It had no taste. It was like the eating plain wheat roti with no salt. Speaking of the fish curry, the only thing it had was color. No salt no spiciness or sourness. Just plain fish curry that felt baked.
The water there tasted just like chlorine waste. It was sooo bad that I dint even bother to take a sip of it after tasting it once.
Coming to the service.. Both the times I felt their service was bad. Especially the second time. The waiters notice you but won't bother to come to you unless you call them. I asked for the menu and got it only after they served the food to all other Tables ( the menu was placed on a table behind me on the opposite site and I din't know this.) They could have just easily grabbed it for me. And whatever meal I asked they said it was not available and dint bother to say which all were available. I waited for another 5 minutes for the waiter to return to me. The Porotta was mildly hot but the fish curry was served cold.
