Aragma is one the best fine dining restaurants offering unique culinary experience. It has a very innovative menu based on local / native grains, vegetables and fruits. Each dish brings out a combination of flavours, textures and is presented beautifully. It has a story related to a tradition, village, tribe or even some grandma's old recipe. I have been to Aragma twice and each time it is an unforgettable experience due to the team's creativity and engaging approach. A highly recommended place for the connoisseurs of food! Went with my partner for our anniversary dinner. Was not sure what to expect and was pleasantly surprised with every course. Familiar ingredients and flavours were presented in entirely novel forms and combinations. We enjoyed all 8 of the courses, and especially loved the desserts. Poornima and team explained the story and concept behind each dish as it was presented, enhancing our enjoyment of the food and the chef's creativity. Our only point of constructive feedback: the ambient music was a little too loud and distracting, and was not well-suited to the restaurant's vibes or theme. Softer instrumental music would have been much preferred! Personally I like tasting menus and not having to choose what to eat. But I can understand that this may not be a normal thing in India, aside from thalis. I was pleasantly surprised as this restaurant really tries to focus on its Indian heritage but mixes it with different taste profiles that are also familiar with multiple cuisines. So each dish was unique but also had its own little Indian story. Whilst the dishes are fairly small you do have the opportunity to ask for second helping on some of them so all in all it was filling. The dinner can take some time for best to go with people that you can engage and talk to. We had a bottle of wine so time passed fairly quickly. You also have to pay in advance which I had no problems with. At 3000 rupees per head it’s not cheap by Indian standards but I know the same meal in the UK or US would be 3 to 5 times. Generally I don’t go to restaurants twice but as this one has a new menu each quarter I will definitely be going back.
