Heard a lot about Appa Khichadi in Narayan Peth — finally got to try it, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! The khichadi was flavorful, perfectly spiced, and had that comforting homemade taste. The kakadi (cucumber raita) on the side was refreshing and balanced the meal beautifully. If you're in Narayan Peth and looking for a light but tasty local meal, this place is a must-visit. Simple, clean, and totally satisfying! A small, old hole in the wall joint serving authentic, Maharashtrian thindis, Appas Khichdi, gave us a satisfying breakfast - Poha, Sabudana khichdi, shenga chutney, batata vada were all excellent while the pineapple Shira was average Meal type: Breakfast Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes: Misal Pav, Pohe, Kakdi Khichdi, Sabudana Vada, Batawada Chatni Vegetarian offerings: Menu is all vegetarian

Appa was our introduction to a Maharashtrian breakfast, and we loved it! We got to have a 7-star restaurant experience in such a humble place. Typically, crowded breakfast places serve up the bulk of one's orders in a go, but here, each plate was served after individual preparation. Each item carefully came out only after we were done eating the previous dish, on time and at temperatures just right. Nothing short of a fine-dine feeling! It's these little things in hospitality that make restaurants stand out so memorably. We really felt taken care of.
