We visited the Annodatri today specifically to try the Vegetarian Thali during the Puja festivities. The positive aspect was the taste: Flavour-wise, the thali was genuinely good. The food was well-prepared, and the individual items were pleasing to the palate. However, the main issue was the value and portion size, especially considering the price of ₹399. The portion sizes were extremely small and rigid. For the main side dishes, we were served: Only one (1) piece of Gobi (cauliflower). Only one (1) small piece of Paneer. While a thali is a set meal, at this price point, and when major components are so scant, it feels overpriced. The most significant concern is that none of these side dishes were offered for a second serving or refill, effectively making the thali a one-time fixed plate rather than a traditionally generous festive thali. Given the premium price of ₹399, the expectation is for either slightly larger portions or the option for a reasonable repeat of the side dishes.
