1. Yesterday, I called up the restaurant to check if they served lunch on Sundays and also meals. The person who attended to my call, confirmed both about lunch and meals. But when I ordered meals this afternoon, I was told that they did not serve meals on Sundays. If I had known, I would not have visited the restaurant today as I was keen on having a meal for lunch. Clear and correct communication is critical in a service sector like the restaurant. This is the first of more disappointments.
2. When I entered the restaurant this afternoon, there was a pungent odour of disinfectant. It was extremely unpleasant as it reminded me of a toilet or a hospital. This is a first time for me in with the restaurant. I mentioned this to the steward who approached us to guide to a table. I chose a table that was furthest from the wash area to avoid the smell as I presumed it came from the wash area.
3. I ordered mutton biryani which was a disappointment. The masala was not properly mixed and cooked so that it tasted too strong of the masala. I had to mix the vegetable fried rice which I had ordered, with the biryani to make it palatable.
4. Last but definitely not the least, the restaurant included service charge on their bill. To my knowledge, this is inadmissible and even illegal. There is a court ruling against restaurants charging service charges. I attach the bill in proof.
