Started to feel hungry after watching movie at AGS. Not interested to eat at the restaurants nearby the cinema complex as I wanted to try some different type cuisine. Took my mobile to browse on zomato it suggested me Amdavadi at walkable distance from the AGS building. I started to walk on the North Boag Road with a friend. The way is dark and not much outlets. I wouldnt made it alone! We thought missed the place after 15 min of walk but kept moving forward. The Google map showed that we crossed the restaurant so u turned with regrets of not been able to have food and the time is almost 9.30p. My friend shouted and pointed the restaurant name board. Actually the name is written only on one side, the other side is blank and the board is small. It was a small concrete way with no restaurant visible to our eyes. Asked the security guard, he said to go at the vinayaga statue. I saw a small sign on the right mentioned "Amdavadi Gujarati snack house". Finally felt relieved of suspense. My eyes started to open bigger and bigger as we walked inside, such a beautiful place! Large windows, green plants, dim lights, white wall and black and white art works. A peaceful environment. Great welcome by the personal. Few people were sitting and almost finished dinner, we were the last. Ordered Aloo Baingan, meal combo and kesar pista Kulfi. Food tasted good. I made the great discovery about Gujarati sambar: it is sweet taste! South Indians can't go for this sambar but other dishes were yummy. The cashier was friendly with a great professional behaviour. They took so much care of interior design but ignored the hand wash room, dirty and not maintained. Also The look of the yellow plastic Plates destroy the cozy look of the restaurant. The taxes was very high, 70 rupees for a total of 550 rupees of food consumption.
