Visited Pop Tates at Viman Nagar over the weekend and tried a mix of Indian and continental dishes. Although they specialize in sizzlers as per the staff. In the main course, I ordered the Chicken Makhani Bowl (served with rice and laccha paratha) and Paneer Manchurian Bowl (served with rice). Both bowls are well-portioned sufficient for one or can be shared by two with a moderate appetite. The flavors were distinct in each dish, though the Chicken Makhani leaned towards the richer side. For starters, I had Teriyaki Chicken, which tasted quite similar to Venky’s grilled skewers only tossed in teriyaki sauce, and Pop Roast Chicken, a continental-style dish served with mashed potatoes, sautéed vegetables, and garlic pepper sauce. The Pop Roast Chicken is ideal for those who prefer milder, less spicy flavors, though I personally found it a bit salty. Good for gym freaks. The ambience gives off a classic retro 80s–90s American diner vibe, staying true to their theme. However, it can get a little loud if there’s a birthday celebration going on. There’s no wash basin, but wet napkins are provided. The restaurant offers RO water, which is appreciated, instead of pushing bottled water. Parking for both bikes and cars is available in the mall, and the outlet is located on the top floor. The service felt a bit slow, perhaps due to the weekend rush. Prices are on the higher side, but the experience is a one-time visit. While the food wasn’t exceptionally tempting for a repeat visit, it’s definitely not bad either. Suggestions: - Adding a wash basin inside would be a plus. - Service speed could be improved. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
